In a basement under an apartment complex on the Thomas à Kempislaan in Eindhoven, a fire raged on Saturday afternoon. A storage room caught fire. Probably the fire started during DIY work. The fire brigade also found a gas bottle in the storage room, which may have been used when welding.
The fire brigade was at the complex with two extinguishing vehicles to fight the fire. The fire was quickly under control, but around half past six it was still in full swing. Nobody was injured in the fire.
Smoke hung in the building, but the nuisance for the houses and the pharmacy that is located there was small. The residents did not have to leave their houses.
