Many Finns come across the same question many times a year: why are they flagging today?
Finnish flags are raised in the sinks around the country many times a year to celebrate many different anniversaries. Iltalehti has put together dates for this test and you have to know what the flag day is celebrated on that day.
Some flagging days remain the same year after year, but others vary – for example, Midsummer’s Day is always Saturday, when the exact date varies depending on the year. This test uses the dates of 2025 flagging days.
