Has a woman from Bergen op Zoom killed her own father? That is the big question that the court in Breda must answer on Thursday. The victim, Gradus Haisch, was beaten to death and stabbed on a deserted country road in Wouwse Plantage. The public prosecutor finds sufficiently proven that Gradus Haisch from Bergen op Zoom was lured by his own daughter and her friend. That friend had to go into the cell. Now the daughter may also go after it.
The evidence against friend Jeroen was overwhelming in court, as it turned out earlier this year. Like many suspicious chat messages about Gradus via Snapchat and WhatsApp. Moreover, shortly before the murder, Jeroen bought a knife, new shoes and cleaning products, he made an appointment with the victim in a deserted place and Gradus died there a violent death.
After the murder, Jeroen dumped his bloody clothes, but the police saw that happen and he was arrested. A lawsuit followed and Jeroen got 20 years in prison for co -perpetrating murder. In the meantime, the lawsuit against the daughter was postponed because she suddenly changed lawyers just before the trial.
Daughter
Another court, ie three other judges, looked at the accusations last month at the address of Gradus’s daughter. She was sued for the same crime, so also for co -perpetrating murder.
But in her file no bloody clothes or a knife. With her everything revolves around those suspicious chats, via Snapchat and WhatsApp. She left striking digital traces.

Especially the more than forty searches on her cell phone were strange. In the hours before Gradus’s death, his daughter searched online for poems and mourning texts about sorrow about your deceased father. And that while Gradus nothing was wrong.
According to the public prosecutor you could conclude from those texts that the daughter knew what was going to happen. “How much do you have to hate your father to put it on,” the officer wondered while presenting the indictment. There was 22 years in prison against the daughter.
She has the appearance, said her lawyer. But she has nothing to do with the murder. It was a one -man action of Jeroen. The daughter was overwhelmed by the lawyer’s defense. The woman denies the accusations. “I really didn’t know that Jeroen would do anything about my father,” she said during her lawsuit.
On Thursday morning the judge determines whether she is innocent or guilty and what punishment is part of it.
