Skir racing driver Estelle Alphand is starting for Sweden. Now she reported on previous experiences-and criticizes her ex-coach.

At the Ski World Cup, she won bronze with the team this year and won this silver four years earlier. The ski racer Estelle Alphand, born in France, daughter of ex-Ski star Luc Alphand, used to drive for her country of birth and has started for Sweden since 2017. Now she explained the reasons for her change of nations eight years ago.

In a conversation with “Le Monde”, the 30-year-old criticized the behavior of former French head coach Anthony Secaud. Accordingly, her time with the then coach was “terrible”. She also accused Sechaud “Moral Motorization and Human for Young Skail Runks”.

There were situations in which she did not know directly from the coaching team whether she could start at a World Cup race. Instead, she noticed this through the media – although she was “the fastest in training”.

Therefore, in 2017 she faced an ultimatum. “Either I stop skiing or I’m going somewhere else,” she said now. So she moved to Sweden, her mother’s home country. Since then, Alphand has been able to assert himself. Her brothers are active for France.
