Borussia Dortmund celebrates the qualification for the Champions League. BVB head coach Niko Kovac is only showered with praise after the successful catch-up in the Bundesliga.
Borussia Dortmund kept her nerve on the 34th matchday of the Bundesliga. BVB prevailed 3-0 (1-0) against relegated Holstein Kiel in its own stadium and thus climbed to fourth place.
Head coach Niko Kovac was not only celebrated by the fans after the final whistle. The club bosses also voted a song of praise to the 53-year-old.
“What Niko has done is one of BVB’s greatest coaching performance,” enthused sports managing director Lars Ricken in an interview with “Sky”.
Kovac kisses BVB awake
Kovac had taken over the Dortmund after the end of the predecessor Nuri Sahin in February. The black and yellow ranked in the eleventh place in the Bundesliga at the time and had to worry about international business.
Now it is clear: BVB will also play in the Champions League in the coming season. Borussia had reached the quarter -finals in the premier class this season, and FC Barcelona ended.

“This is extraordinary,” BVB boss Hans-Joachim Watzke praised the Dortmund chase. It would have been “annoyed” if the district club “had” missed “the Champions League in my last year, revealed the long -time Dortmund managing director.
