Four new gallery flats with a total of 96 flex homes on the Groene Dijk in Assen are almost ready to be inhabited. Registration for the social rental properties will start soon and at the beginning of June the municipality expects the first residents to be able to do in their new home.

In fact, Assen wanted to take the houses off in March, but there was a delay in finishing the houses due to a lack of staff. As a result, water and power did not work on time. In the meantime the houses are almost completely ready.

There are three different types of container houses in the flats, all social rent. There are houses for one, two and four people, each equipped with a separate bathroom and a private kitchen. The houses for two and four people have one and two bedrooms respectively. In the smallest house the resident sleeps in the living area.

In the living rooms of the smaller homes there is room for a couch with a table and a television and a small dining table with chairs. A cupboard also fits in the larger houses. Not too big, but that was also the intention.
