What started as an airy plan during a beer became an unexpected entrepreneurial adventure. Friends Ferry de Jonge, Jurre Dijkstra and Ramon Daniëls dreamed of their own holiday home. But instead of one house, they bought a complete holiday park in Gasselte exactly a year ago. And that without any experience in tourism.
The three have been friends for more than fifteen years. The adventure as park owners has only strengthened their bond. “We are a kind of married,” Jurre says laughing, while his friends in the spring sun drink a cup of coffee. “Of course there are sometimes disagreements” he admits. Ferry adds: “We can disagree well and agree with each other, but we always come out together.”
The fact that the friends can go through a door so well is probably due to their joint preference for company and the useful of a beer. “We had zero experience in the tourism sector, but we just jumped in there,” says Ramon. “We learn every day.” Their preference for socializing also helps. “On Friday afternoon we would like to close with a beer,” says Jurre. “Then we often also talk about work, but we know how to separate the business from the friendship. That is important and it also keeps it nice.”
