Florian Lipowitz has made a name for itself in the cycling scene. Now he receives prominent backing for higher tasks.
Jan Ullrich keeps big pieces on a German cycling talent: “I believe that Florian Lipowitz can ride at the Tour de France in the future. He is a young, very strong driver,” said the only German tour winner (1997) to the sports information service (SID).
Lipowitz had drawn attention to himself with a seventh place at Vuelta in Spain last year. The 24-year-old subsequently convinced with constant achievements in the current season. He landed on the second overall in the Paris -Nizza long -distance journey.
Ullrich follows the progress of the professional from the team Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe. “He is a very stable driver and is increasingly introduced to the captain’s role on smaller tours. He can handle the pressure and has great potential,” he continued. In the Black Forest, Ullrich is currently organizing the “Jan Ullrich Cycling Festival”, which is due to take place on May 17th and 18th.
In addition to Lipowitz, Ullrich also gives other names from the German offspring that are currently developing positively. In his view, Georg Steinhauser and the reigning German champion Marco Brenner are also drivers with perspective: “It is difficult to win a Tour de France, we all know that, but you can all achieve success.”
