TV authority Tina Nijkamp knows as a former channel boss of SBS 6 about the towering salaries that go around in Hilversum. “Is the 86 thousand euros that Emma Wortelboer earns normally for a presenter? Well, no, that’s not normal when you see what kind of programs she does,” she says in her podcast Tina’s TV UPDATE.
She continues: “I checked it for a while and then you can really see that she does not work full -time and then 86 thousand euros is more than seven thousand euros gross per month. There will be holiday allowance and everything is added, because that is of course well organized at the NPO. Then that is really a lot of money.”

What salaries did Tina then hand out in her time at SBS 6? “You have to imagine that a heart of the Netherlands presenter, if it earns really well, is also 7 thousand euros or something for a full-time contract.”
Even big stars from the past such as Cilly Dartell and Milika Peterzon? “There were always exceptions at the time and they were at 12 thousand euros, but that was really a big exception.”

In any case, those stars are worth more than such an Emma, says Tina. “You can imagine that a newsreader who works full -time compared to someone at the NPO who then does not work full -time, that 86 thousand euros is a lot, especially considering the age of Emma Wortelboer.”
“She is only 27 years old, so that is a gigantic high salary and her manager has negotiated that very well. I assume that they do not pay other presenters at the NPO if you compare it to Emma’s salary.”
The salary ceiling is 246 thousand euros per year at the NPO.
