It is almost D-Day for Peter Gillis (63). In the court of Den Bosch, the camping boss hears on Tuesday morning whether he is found guilty of large -scale tax fraud. A prison sentence of one and a half years, a fine of almost 600,000 euros and a ban on doing two years is above him. The reality star and his lawyer demanded acquittal or at least no punishment. We list everything.
In mid -January it became clear that the Public Prosecution Service Peter Gillis suspects of large -scale tax fraud on eight holiday parks in the Netherlands. According to the judiciary, this includes black rental, destroying administration and not making a tax return.
Enough punished?
Three months later it is finally time for the ruling in this case. The most important requirement: if it is up to the OM, Gillis has to go to prison for a year and a half, of which six months are conditional. Daughter Inge (29) and his ex-wife (59) also hear their punishment on Tuesday. Inge hangs a 240 -hour community service over the head and his ex a community service sentence of 180 hours. Both would also have to be in jail for half a year if they go wrong again.

“If you consider me guilty, I would like to ask you not to impose a punishment,” Gillis told the judge in February. “I have been punished enough. I and my company have no future in the Netherlands.” Not much later it became clear that the camping boss sold all its parks in the Netherlands.
Have mistakes been made?
It can go two sides for Peter Gillis on Tuesday: a major punishment or acquittal because mistakes have been made. For example, secret documents would have been included during the invasion of 2019 and even copies would have been made. It would be about folders with, among other things, conversations between Gillis and his lawyer. “The OM has made a game of it. This makes a fair trial no longer possible,” said lawyer Hendriks earlier.
But according to the lawyer there is another reason not to prosecute Gillis. “A fine of fifteen million euros has already been imposed. You cannot be punished twice for the same violation. The Public Prosecution Service and the Tax Authorities should have opted: or that fine or prosecution.”
The allegations
“I am not going to tell me that I am a saint, I am not. But I am not a criminal or scammer,” Gillis said earlier. He himself finds his possible tax fraud ‘too small’ to be punished so hard: “They could have just done a hand and ready.”

According to the judiciary, the tax authorities missed at least 500,000 euros due to the ‘black rental’. Mails and conversations with park managers show that the money was raised by Gillis or his son Mark, or taken by park managers to the head office where the ex-wife worked. “The black rental was not registered. I kept that up on a piece of paper, but Peter tore it up after counting the money,” was one of the statements.
Furthermore, the registration of foreign employees was not complete. “They worked more hours than they were paid according to the registration. A paper reality was deliberately created that is incorrect with real reality.” And the tax return for 2017 was not complete and that of 2018 never submitted.
