The 1. FC Magdeburg won the chasing duel in the 2nd Bundesliga and celebrated an important victory in the promotion race.
At the end of the 28th matchday, the team of coach Christian Titz defeated 1. FC Kaiserslautern 2-0 (2-0) and displaced the red devil from the relegation place.
Six game days before the end of the season, both teams have 46 points on their account. Baris Atik (29, 43.) was the match winner for Magdeburg with two goals.
The FCM started strongly and had the jubilation cry early when Martijn Kaars (1st) narrowly missed a cross. After the first excitement, Magdeburg remained game -determining and had the better chances. Livan Burcu (21st) and Jean Hugonet (26th) failed, then Atik did better.
