FC Schalke 04 had probably planned three points against the promoted from Ulm. But the team had to work hard. Meanwhile, Elversberg clearly won.
FC Schalke 04 narrowly avoided another mistake in the 2nd Bundesliga. The “royal blue” won 2-1 (0: 1) against promoted SSV Ulm. It was the guests who took the lead in the 40th minute through Felix Higl. Schalke did not find any solutions for a long time, but was able to compensate for in the 59th minute after a rare strong combination by Paul Seguin. Two minutes before the end, Marcin Kaminski hit the victory after a corner, although Schalke had been outnumbered only two minutes earlier through a yellow-red card against Adrian Gantenbein.
Due to the win, Schalke jumps back to eleventh with 37 points. Ulm already has four points behind the relegation place with 23 points and 17th place.
The team of coach Kees van Wonderen initially presented itself not sovereign in the first half. Goalkeeper Justin Heekeren, who stood in goal for the injured Loris Karius, had a first part of the guests clap forward and was lucky that it was decided on the side (7th). After a long phase without great chances, the ball landed a little happily in the Schalke penalty area at Higl, which Heekeren caught on the wrong foot.
In the second half, Schalke came into play a little better and rewarded himself through Seguin, who hit the far corner after a shelf by captain Kenan Karaman. Only two minutes later it looked like the complete turn, but Karaman’s supposed leadership was revoked due to an offside position (61.). After the dismissal for Gantenbein, Kaminski still made the victory after a Seguin deck ball with a seguin deck ball.
The SV Elversberg has preserved its chance of promotion. The team of coach Horst Steffen defeated Jahn Regensburg 6-0 (3-0) and after three games without a threesome is again in striking distance to the relegation place.
Tom Zimmerschied (13th), Carlo Sickinger (36th, Collection), Fisnik Asllani (43., 87.), Semih Sahin (57th) and Robin Fellhauer (65th) scored the hosts. For Regensburg, the chances of relegation after the 13th defeat in the 14th away game of the season (a draw) are getting smaller.
Elversberg dominated the action right from the start, but was only dangerous in the initial phase in standard situations. Regensburg lurked on counterattacks and had a good chance through Sargis Adamyan (12th). In return, however, the Saarlanders took the lead. Then the hosts let ball and opponents run. Until the break, Sickinger and Asllani and his 13th SizeToror made the preliminary decision. With his 14th he made half a dozen full.
For the promoted Regensburg, it should immediately go back to the 3rd league. The gap to the relegation place is eight points for six outstanding games.
The 1. FC Kaiserslautern missed the chance to distance 1. The “red devil” lost 0: 2 (0: 2) to the direct competitor and had to be displaced by him from the relegation place.
The Palatinate Baris Atik, born, marked both goals. First the director hit the far corner with a low shot in the 29th minute, then he surprised the entire Lauter back team with a long flank, which to the delight of the 27,100 spectators jumped from the inner post into the goal.
