The Grand Prix of Japan will take place on Sunday. The second training session on Friday was turbulent – with multiple interruptions.

An early departure from Jack Doohan and burning lawn shaped the second free training at the Grand Prix in Japan. The alpine driver lost control of his car in the first curve-after that there was little to nothing on the Suzuka Circuit.

At high speed, the 22-year-old Australian came off the route in curve and hit the limitation. The alpine was badly damaged. “I’m okay,” said Doohan from the cockpit and asked immediately afterwards: “What happened?” Shortly afterwards he was brought to the route hospital for an examination.

Doohan, who preferred to get out of the car in front of Mick Schumacher as a regular at Alpine, was able to get out of the car independently, but the training day ended early for him. The rookie had not been in the first training session in favor of local hero Ryo Harakawa.

After 23 minutes the training was released again. But even after that, hardly any pilot came into the rhythm: First, Fernando Alonso and his Aston Martin landed in the gravel bed, then two more incidents caused interruptions. The dry lawn ignited by sparking flight next to the route-two more red phases followed.
