Nerazzurri in the running very open for all competitions: +3 on Napoli in Serie A, a return to the Italian Cup where the big names and Bayern failed by accidents will return. Nevertheless…
The question has been repeated for weeks in the head of Inter and not: can Inter really win all the competitions in which it runs? Someone excludes it categorically, others firmly believe it, then there are those who do not unbalance. In short, a real thermometer is not there. To date everything is worth everything and the opposite of everything. But Simone Inzaghi’s team is objectively there, in full race on all fronts: first at +3 on Naples in Serie A, inside a semifinal of the Italian Cup against Milan open to any possibility, in the Champions League quarter -quarters against a bayern failed by accidents and on the side (more or less) “just” on the scoreboard, because Real Madrid and PSG are on the opposite side and can only be crossed in the final, in a final, in a final, in a final. Any dry race that clearly would leave room for more interpretations and perhaps less technical. In case of passage of the round against Bayern, however, the Nerazzurri should probably face Barcelona in the semifinal – which in the quarterfinals will challenge Borussia Dortmund -, considered among the favorites in the cup race.

Inter are in confidence, in the race everywhere, and now even superstition plays a role in the Nerazzurri group. Every time that some protagonist is asked if Inter can really aim for the triple, the answer is similar: “The goal is to do better and better, we have to try, we want to do something important, we believe it, difficult but we will fight”. It looks like a broken disc of discounted answers, but it is not. All players always think by putting the “we” before “I”, a further sign of how united and cohesive the group is to reach something really important. For its part, Inzaghi merely admitted that “the goal is to play as many games as possible”, but to play them you have to win them all or almost and the ambition is there. On a technical level, then, the possibility is not lacking. Because in the championship in these two weeks Inter could have the opportunity to extend further on Napoli today 3 points away. The Nerazzurri will play against Parma and Cagliari, the Azzurri will be engaged in the complicated trip to Bologna and Maradona against Empoli.
That’s why around mid -April the Nerazzurri advantage could also be greater and give Inzaghi a more peaceful management of the rest of the competitions. The 1-1 in the first leg of the Italian Cup derby, however, leaves everything open in view of the return. But yesterday’s Inter was in an emergency and the Nerazzurri technician hopes – indeed “dreams” – to have those who had to skip the first round available (Lautaro, Dimarco, Arnautovic, Taremi and perhaps not only). The possible final, then, would be likely to be played against Bologna: certainly a tough opponent, but technically lower than Inter. Then there is the Champions League. That must be interpreted step by step, and the next one means Bayern Munich. The team led by Kompany remains a battleship, but the many injuries could put Inter in the best conditions to face the Bavarians. And after who knows …

The other side of the medal is less optimistic and more realistic. Starting from the Champions League, it is true that Bayern is suffering from a very long series of injuries in recent weeks, but Inter is also no different. Problems that could also affect the physical condition of the team, because in a decisive moment of the season, with such a dense calendar, having to forcefully squeeze most of the owners because of the many absences could lead to further trouble. This is the fear of Inzaghi. Then there is the theme relating to the field: leaving aside the theme unavailable, Bayern remains a squadron in any case. Just look at the offensive package: Musiala, Olise, Gnabry, Sané, Muller, Kane. They will all be there and stop them will certainly not be an easy business. Even in case of passage of the round, then, the best Barcelona of the last few years (always in the event of a passage of the round against Dortmund) would really scare. And if in the Italian Cup it is all open, it is on both sides: the 1-1 of the first leg has postponed everything, but Milan this season has shown to be the real black beast of Inter.
For Inter zero victories on four clashes so far between Serie A, Super Cup and Italian Cup and the fear that the only seasonal goal remained at the Rossoneri can complicate the Nerazzurri plans. Not to mention that in a possible final against Bologna, Vincenzo Italiano’s team could actually turn into a wandering threatening. Then there is the championship, where everything is – and the feeling is that it will remain until the end – still open. Three points of advantage are few, Napoli Punta does all-in on the Scudetto, he will play several games less than Inter and from here at the end the calendar smiles at Conte. Because the commitments are all widely within reach and the big names already encountered. Bologna, Empoli, Monza, Turin, Lecce, Genoa, Parma and Cagliari remain. Inter, in addition to at least 3 games to be played more than the Azzurri (two with Bayern, the return with Milan and then who knows), from here in the end he will have to face Rome and Lazio in the midst of a calendar for the rest more or less similar to Napoli. In short: everything can happen. And no, to the question if Inter can really win the triple or not you can’t really answer.
