The Bruges department of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of West Flanders is authorized to possibly start an investigation, but it is not yet clear whether that will happen. “We have taken note of the video message and we look at what consequence we give to it,” it sounded earlier this afternoon.
In the meantime, the public prosecutor has announced that an investigation will indeed be conducted. “The public prosecutor’s office today started an investigation into the distributor of the video message, in order to check whether criminal offenses were committed. No further information is provided about this criminal investigation.”
