426 police officers check every highway in West Flanders: “Action against burglars, people smugglers and drug dealers”

Motorists who went near highways in West Flanders on Saturday afternoon and evening ran a high risk of being stopped by the police. A checkpoint was set up at almost every entrance and exit complex in the province. In Ruddervoorde, the motorists were given the presence of ministers Verlinden, Van Quickenborne, governor Carl Decaluwé, public prosecutor Philip Jodts and the entire press for free. “The main goal is to intercept burglar gangs, people smugglers and drug dealers,” said Verlinden.
