3rd league: Türkgücü against 1860 Munich canceled after Corona cases

Shortly before kick-off in the 3rd league

The city duel in the 3rd division between Türkgücü and TSV 1860 Munich was canceled on Saturday a good hour before the scheduled kick-off. Several corona cases have occurred in the “Lions” squad, as announced by the German Football Association (DFB) and the club. The responsible Munich health department then quarantined the entire team and the support staff of the “Sechzger”.

A catch-up date for the game has not yet been set. The scheduled implementation of the next game of the “Lions” next Tuesday against 1. FC Kaiserslautern is also “strongly endangered”, as the DFB also announced.

The positive test results at 1860 are obviously related to the DFB Cup game against Karlsruher SC last Tuesday. 16 corona cases were then reported to the second division club. The German Football League therefore canceled the second division game between KSC and SV Sandhausen that was planned for Sunday.

The “lions” pointed out that their positive cases had occurred with team members “who were in closed rooms with players and officials of the KSC as part of the doping control and other joint mandatory appointments.” All people who tested positive were from the club who were not mentioned by name showed “no or only slight symptoms.”
