HSV-Joker secures last-minute victory
Completely unimpressed by their club’s severe leadership crisis, the Hamburger SV team is continuing to work on its return to the Bundesliga. Thanks to a spectacular solo run by Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer in added time (90+2), the league leaders also won the second division top game at Hannover 96 2-1 (1-1) on Friday evening. The fifth win in a row came late but deserved.
In front of the first division crowd of 49,000 spectators, the significantly better players from Hamburg fell behind in the 4th minute because their defender Miro Muheim slipped in their own penalty area and his opponent Sei Muroya only had to push the ball into the goal. When equalizing, the 96ers gave back a similar gift just eleven minutes later when Julian Börner scored an own goal (15th).
Mit Reis, Platte & Pieringer: Biggest winners of the second division update
This highly intense northern duel took place just two evenings after the resignation of HSV CFO Thomas Wüstefeld, who had lost the trust of the supervisory board due to numerous allegations against him. This affair left Hamburg just as cold as the early deficit, because they dominated this top game almost continuously.
The playful superiority of HSV was at times so great that the 96ers had little choice but to narrow the spaces and defend compactly. The Lower Saxony hardly found their own offensive game.
And they didn’t succeed in stopping every Hamburg attack either: Sonny Kittel (13th/19th/66th), Robert Glatzel (41st/52nd), Pechvogel Muheim (41st) and Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer (86th). .) several good chances for HSV or failed because of the strong 96 goalkeeper Ron-Robert Zieler. Hannover only broke this dominance a little after an hour, but were not nearly as dangerous in attack as HSV.
2nd league: SC Paderborn fails against SV Darmstadt
With the victory in the top game at SC Paderborn, SV Darmstadt 98 ended the winning streak of Ostwestfalen in front of their home crowd and took second place in the table. The Hessians won 2-1 (2-1) against Paderborn, who had previously won five home games, and remained undefeated in the ninth game in a row. In front of 11,238 spectators in the Paderborn stadium, Braydon Manu (10th minute) and Jannik Müller (24th) scored the goals for the guests, Robert Leipertz (4th) scored for Paderborn.
Featuring Bénes, van Drongelen & Arrey-Mbi: Biggest losers of the second division update
In an exciting and varied game with a number of goal chances on both sides, the hosts got off to a better start and scored the 1-0 through Leipertz in the 4th minute. Three minutes later, Marvin Pieringer even had the chance to make it 2-0, but failed with his penalty kick by Darmstadt goalkeeper Marcel Schuhen, who was able to parry the fourth of the last nine penalties.
Then the guests trumped. First Manu managed to equalize before Müller scored his first second division goal in almost four years with a header and put the Hessians 2-1 in front. Tobias Kempe did the preparatory work for both goals. The East Westphalians pushed hard for the equalizer, but were also lucky that Matthias Bader hit the post on the other side.
90+3′ THE FINAL WHISTLE.
An incredible solo by Ransford-Yeboah #Königsdörffer secures us the fully deserved AWAY VICTORY. The 3 points are coming to HAMBURG.
