Hamburger SV is not yet defeated in the fight for promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga. The Rothosen, for whom a highlight awaits on Tuesday with the semi-finals in the DFB Cup, defeated Karlsruher SC 3-0 (2-0) and reduced the gap to the relegation place to at least five points for the time being on matchday 30.
Robert Glatzel (23rd), Mario Vuskovic (32nd) and Josha Vagnoman (68th) scored for HSV, who after 30 minutes played a superior number against KSC defense chief Daniel Gordon after yellow-red.
In order for the return to be possible four years after being relegated from the upper house, the competition must also play their part – by stealing points from each other. This can happen on Easter Sunday (1.30 p.m. / Sky), when leaders Schalke 04 and fourth-placed Darmstadt 98 meet at Böllenfalltor, while third-placed Werder Bremen welcomes fifth-placed 1. FC Nürnberg.
Three days before the cup duel with SC Freiburg (Tuesday, 8.45 p.m. / ARD and Sky), coach Tim Walter’s team appeared in front of 24,892 spectators, well recovered from the 0-1 draw at Holstein Kiel and played for almost 90 minutes on goal. Especially worth seeing was Vuskovic’s direct free kick from a good 25 meters. The KSC, for which nothing is at stake this season, had little to oppose.
