Hannover 96 made his first points this season and lost to Hertha BSC.

After the 0: 3 (0: 0) against Hertha BSC, Hannover 96 remains at least league leader, since the team had previously won all four previous games. Hertha, who was previously winless, got a little air with the away win and first climbed to 13th place. Marten Winkler (51st), Dawid Kownacki (68th) and Luca Schuler (90.+2) scored the goals.

“We are responsible”said Hanover coach Christian Titz at Sky. “We had to have clearly decided the game until the 65th minute. And then what we actually wanted to prevent happened.”

Both teams with possibilities, but without goals

Both teams had their chances in the first half: the two Hanoverians Jannik Rochelt (5th) and Benedikt Pichler (10th) each failed to Hertha’s goalkeeper Tjark Ernst (10th). Hertha Fabian Reese fled the ball from the left just a few centimeters past the long corner (22nd).

Then it was Hanover again: Virgil Ghiţă headed the ball on the goal after a corner, but Marten Winkler clarified on the line (39.).

Hanover with the great chance – but Hertha meets

Hanover remained game -determining over further routes and shortly after the exam had the great chance to take the lead: Mustapha Bundu played from the right into the middle, where the ball came to Husseyn Chakroun, who shot Hertha’s defender Toni Leistner freely in front of the goal.

The return train led to the goal for Hanover. At the end of the counterattack, Dawid Kownacki is actually too short, but Winkler went towards the ball, played out Hayate Matsuda and hit (51st) – instead of leading the deficit for Hanover. Kownacki increased to 2-0 a little later when he climbed the highest after a half field flank from the left and hit the head (68.).

In the end, Hanover sold under value: in added time, Herthas Kevin Sessa had a counterattack, another was: Mickaël Cuisance flanked from the left, Luca Schuler Volley (90.+2) converted in the middle. “Nothing replaces victories. How we scored the goals, what kind of passion we played against the ball, played offensive – that was very important for us as a team”said Reese at Sky.

The celebration at the Hertha fans, however, was clouded. After a medical emergency, the fans stopped organizing support in the mid -second half.
