At the start of the day, a ‘handful’ of people were arrested around Central Station for prohibited possession of weapons and wearing face-covering clothing. The police were allowed to carry out preventive searches in that area, on the orders of Mayor Halsema.

On Museumplein, where the first part of the demonstration took place, a number of people were arrested for public disorder and setting off fireworks. After the demonstration, part of the group moved into the city center. There, the police closed the group on the Prinsengracht, where, in addition to arrests for public disorder, they also arrested people for insulting and vandalizing.

The remainder of the trapped demonstrators were transferred to Noord by GVB bus.
