2023 is the hottest year ever measured according to WMO: “2024 will be even warmer”

The year 2023 will be the hottest year on record, the United Nations World Meteorological Organization (WMO) says in a new report. Global temperatures were about 1.4 degrees Celsius warmer than the temperature in the period from 1850 to 1900, which the WMO uses as a baseline for pre-industrial global temperatures.
