12-year-old stabbing perpetrator for at least three months in a semi-open institution: “He looks up to his brother, who has committed a robbery before”

The 12-year-old boy who stabbed a local police officer in Peer after school has been placed in a semi-open institution for at least three months. The juvenile judge of Hasselt decided this yesterday, where the teenager was on trial for attempted manslaughter. “He doesn’t understand how he got into this situation,” his lawyer said. Still, the violence is no stranger to the family: his 17-year-old brother, whom the young teenager looks up to, previously came into contact with the law after he robbed a newsagent.
