A 26-year-old man from Roosendaal was arrested last night for assaulting an employee of a supermarket in his hometown. The man bought a bottle of liquor in the shop on Streuvelslaan around half past eight. When he returned not much later and wanted to buy another bottle, the store employee indicated that he was no longer allowed to sell the alcohol. This because the man smelled of alcohol and was probably drunk.
The man then threw the bottle on the ground and punched an employee of the store in the face. Warned officers eventually arrested the man for assault and destruction. During the ride to the cell complex, the suspect continued to resist his arrest, according to the police. He expressed his displeasure verbally. He also spat on an officer. The man is being questioned today.
