At the marina on Kwistgeldweg in Lage Zwaluwe, burglars were caught on a boat around midnight. Police arrested a 20-year-old man from Romania. A police dog tracked down another suspect. This 33-year-old man, with no fixed abode or abode, only surrendered after the police dog bit him. Both men are in custody for further investigation.
After the arrival of the police, several men ran across the closed area of the marina. Several boats were stored on this site. The 20-year-old suspect had hidden under the sail of one of these boats. The other suspect appeared to have hidden under a footbridge a little further on. After his arrest, he turned out to have burglary tools in his pocket.
The man’s bite marks were treated by a doctor. It is not yet clear whether the burglars had stolen anything.
