The driver of a scooter was seriously injured this morning in a collision at an intersection in Aalsmeer. The victim was taken to hospital.
The accident happened just before seven o’clock this morning at the intersection of Aalsmeerdeweg with Machineweg. The scooter ended up under the off-road vehicle in the collision.

A summoned trauma helicopter was canceled after a while. After first aid at the scene, the victim was taken to hospital by ambulance. “The victim has leg injuries, but is approachable,” said a police spokesperson. Age and gender are unknown.
Turn
It seems that the motorist wanted to turn left from the Aalsmelaar to the Machineweg, but overlooked the scooter on the cycle path parallel to the Aalsmouderweg.

‘As usual’ in the case of accidents with serious consequences, the police are investigating exactly what happened. In doing so, the police check, among other things, whether alcohol was involved or whether one of the parties ignored the red light.
Motorist arrested
The driver has been arrested and ‘will be questioned’ about the accident, the spokesperson concludes. This is also common after a serious accident.
