The Rossoneri club is still looking for a coach with whom to start again but in the meantime, after Modric and Leao, Rabiot also seems intent on leaving
The new Milan, the one that will have to attack the Champions League after Max Allegri’s failure, is always at sea. Gerry Cardinale and Ibrahimovic have yet to choose Max’s successor but in the meantime the market already presents some disturbing cases. Not only does Luka Modric seem intent on closing after the World Cup, not only is Leao looking for an offer for a change of scenery but there is also another pillar of the previous management that Allegri could follow: let’s find out Rabiot’s odds at Napoli by September 1st, the day the summer transfer window closes.
RABIOT ODDS AT NAPLES
—
The talented French midfielder will be busy with the national team at the World Cup but will remotely follow the evolution of his situation, which could change suddenly. Rabiot, in fact, is very close to Max Allegri, who brought him to the Rossoneri after the breakup with Marseille: Max has already asked his new president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, and sporting director Manna, claiming that he is an element that can make the difference even in the Champions League.
Napoli’s problem, before starting negotiations with Milan, still without a direct player, is that linked to Anguissa and De Bruyne, two midfielders potentially leaving the Neapolitan club. To buy Rabiot, you need to sell at least one of the two. The cost of the Frenchman is around 15-18 million despite sporting director Tare, last season, purchasing him for around ten million from Marseille, where the player had clashed with Rowe and then asked to leave.
Napoli, compared to Milan, offers the possibility of playing in the Champions League, which is why the midfielder has already given his consent to his possible transfer to the Azzurri. According to the bookies of the main betting sites, Rabiot at Napoli is on the board at odds of 1.75 on Betflag, Goldbet, Planetwin365 and Better Lottomatica.
CONFIRMATION IN THE ROSSONERO
—
It is clear that a decision on Rabiot will only be made when Milan has decided who to entrust with the technical management of the team. At the moment Glasner seems ahead of Slot, who has just been fired by Liverpool, but everything could change in just one day. The past, however, says that when the French player decided to change teams, he always succeeded. And apparently Allegri’s farewell now pushes him more towards Napoli than towards confirmation.
Rabiot is linked to Milan by a contract which expires on 30 June 2028. Before leaving with his national team for the World Cup he received offers from Saudi Arabia, obviously very rich, but for now the midfielder seems determined to stay in Europe and, possibly in Serie A. He would prefer the Champions League of Napoli to the Rossoneri’s Europa League but everything will depend on any negotiations between the two clubs.
