Goalkeeper Julian Pollersbeck (28) returns to Germany and joins second division football club 1. FC Magdeburg.
The commitment of the U21 European Champion of 2017 announced the FCM on Thursday. Pollersbeck was most recently under contract with Olympique Lyon and was loaned to FC Lorient in the second half of last season.
From 2017 to 2020 Pollersbeck was active for Hamburger SV, in the Hanseatic city he was already trained in 2018 by the current FCM coach Christian Titz. He was the regular keeper at the 2017 U21 European Championship in Poland and played a major role in winning the title.
“With Julian we are getting a goalkeeper who has already played internationally and has Bundesliga experience. With his signing, we are very well positioned in the goalkeeping position and prepared for certain eventualities,” said Otmar Schork, Magdeburg’s sporting director.
