Gatekeeper Diant Ramaj wants to go into public focus again through his switch to the 1st FC Heidenheim – and in the long term also into the field of view of the national team. After his stations abroad, it was important to him to play in the Bundesliga, he explained to the “kicker”. “I wanted to be more visible again in German football.” To do this, he decided against “several options, including clubs that are represented in international competitions”.
Ramaj was recently borrowed from Borussia Dortmund, where he is still bound until 2029. The transfer caused a stir-also because the Ostalb club withdrawn its long-time stem keeper Kevin Müller as number one. The mood in the goalkeeper team is “very good,” said Ramaj. “Kevin and I speak a lot, work hard and respect.”
Ramaj already played for Heidenheim in his youth. He then ran for Eintracht Frankfurt, Ajax Amsterdam and FC Copenhagen. With the Danes, he was last, also loan, champion and cup winner. This was “hardly registered in this country,” said the 23-year-old.
Ramaj: “Dead fish swim with the stream”
Ramaj’s announcement in June that he would not sit on the bench in Dortmund was sometimes considered to be rich. “Dead fish swim with the stream. I have a mouth to say what I think,” said the self -confident goalkeeper. “I have proven to have a certain level with which I don’t need to hide.” For him, it is currently “simply essential” to get game practice because he wants to “get on”.
The aim in the coming season is to keep the league with Heidenheim. In terms of perspective, he then wanted to “assert himself as number one at BVB,” says Ramaj. “I work on that every day.” And on a possible jump to the national team. “In any case. I know what I can do and I believe that I can go this way,” the Stuttgart -born is certain. With a market value of 7 million euros, Ramaj is currently the most eight -value German goalkeeper. However, he was already estimated at 18 million euros, which would be the most divided together with U21 national goalkeeper Noah Atubolu.
