ZZ Top’s new album, Raw, is out July 22nd. It represents the original soundtrack for the Netflix documentary “That Little Ol’ Band from Texas”. Attached you will find the track list, the current single “Brown Sugar” and the video for “Tube Snake Boogie”. The press release states that the “La Grange” reissue, like all twelve tracks on the album, was recorded at Gruene Hall in New Braunfels, Texas.
Souvenir of Dusty Hill
The new album will be released just days before the anniversary of Dusty Hill’s death, which will mark the first anniversary on July 28, 2022. Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard describe the recording process of “Raw,” which was recorded in just one day, as “a totally honest return to our roots.”
Jake Mann and Gary Moon were the sound engineers. Ryan Hewitt mixed “Raw”. The album will be released as a heavyweight vinyl edition (180g), CD and in digital form.
ZZ Top on tour through North America
Even before the release of the new record, ZZ Top are touring across North America on their “Raw Whiskey Tour”. The tour includes more than 100 shows and takes the rock band to the largest venues in the United States. The title of the Raw Whiskey Tour, which kicks off May 27 in San Diego, is a reference to the upcoming project and the band’s Tres Hombres whiskey.
