Alexander Zverev started the dress rehearsal for the French Open in Paris (from May 28) with an easy win.
The 26-year-old reached the quarter-finals of the preparation tournament in Geneva with a 6: 2, 6: 3 against the American Christopher Eubanks. There he meets the Italian Marco Cecchinato or Yibing Wu from China.
The recently weak Zverev, who won the title at Lake Geneva in 2019, had accepted a wildcard for the tournament. In the first round he received a bye.
Four years ago, Zverev started in Geneva after a disappointing clay court season and won the title after several close matches. Later he also convinced in Paris and only lost there in the quarterfinals against the Serbian Novak Djokovic.
