Zulte Waregem catches up to three times against KV Kortrijk
Both teams make little progress with a point. Kortrijk takes fourteenth position in the ranking of the Jupiler Pro League with 27 units, while Zulte Waregem is in sixteenth place with 23 units.
Mbaye Leye’s troops ran into a goal after just fifteen minutes in a game that had better win with a view to preservation. Abdelhak Kadri slipped through the home defense and gave Sammy Bossuyt a crack in the bottom right corner. Essevee gave himself a lifeline on the half hour mark: Alessandro Ciranni escaped the attention of the Kortrijkz defense and slid the ball into the top left corner. Faiz Selemani showed his kicking technique just before halftime. The attacker nailed a free kick from well outside the box on behalf of the Guys.
After the break, Essevee fully recovered. The hosts showed a second resilience early in the second half through Alioune Ndour, who exploited wrangling in the visiting goal mouth with another equalizer. Still, a third deficit followed via Felipe Avenatti, who was sent into the street and surprised Bossut with an overangled slider. Zinho Gano headed the final score against the ropes in the final phase, leaving a point at the Gaverbeek.
