Zulte Waregem dropped from the Jupiler Pro League last year to the Challenger Pro League, the second division of football. The West Flemish club wants to return to 1A as quickly as possible. Essevee is currently in first place, with the same number of points as Beerschot. With Anton Tanghe they have already secured the first reinforcement of the transfer period. The Club Brugge youth product is now moving from last in the standings to leader. Tanghe signed a contract until 2027 at Gaverbeek.
“Despite his young age, Anton is a defender who knows Belgian football inside and out,” says Sporting Manager Tom Caluwé. “Since the 2020-2021 season, Anton has played more than 80% of the matches at the highest level and was even named captain at KVO this season. He has the values and qualities to fight for a place in the Jupiler Pro League together with Essevee.”
