Zuidas in Amsterdam goes black in the fight against energy waste | Financial

Green Business Club (GBC) Zuidas reports this after an annual meeting of directors of the office area. At the moment, the lights in the area often continue to shine because of the behavior of employees, the lack of light sensors or the lack of a person with ultimate responsibility.

The Zuidas is therefore a striking appearance even in the dark. Many of the office buildings along the A10 motorway are well lit at night, but from now on it should be darker more often between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Arcadis engineering firm, residential investor and landlord Vesteda are also taking part. “More companies will follow,” said the Green Business Club in a statement.

Waste

The club also wants to look at other waste of energy. “It is also about looking critically at climate systems, can the thermostat be turned down in the winter and up in the summer?”, wonders program director Eline Kik of GBC Zuidas. In the coming months, a number of buildings will be examined to determine which measures can be implemented in the short term.
