Zoff about stable order at Red Bull settled

Sergio Pérez has cleared up the alleged differences around the stable orders at the Formula 1 race in Barcelona with his Red Bull team.

A week ago, the Mexican received an announcement from his engineer that he should not fight against teammate Max Verstappen, who was on a different strategy. Pérez called it “unfair” and wanted to talk about it again.

That happened after the race in Spain: “Yes, we spoke,” confirms Pérez and explains why he found the situation unfair at the time, but not anymore: “In the race you only have certain information. The team, on the other hand, has the bigger picture,” he says.

“Great momentum for Red Bull”

At the time he had the feeling that his planned two-stop strategy would work out and he wanted to try everything to get there. “But it was clear that three stops would be the right thing to do,” says Pérez. “But we talked after the race and it’s all settled.”

“But we agree that we could have done a better job in the stint to give both strategies a chance to see which one works,” said Pérez, who again spoke of a “great team result” and a ” great momentum for Red Bull” and emphasized the “great atmosphere” in the team.

And he emphasizes: “They made it clear that I have the full support of the team to see me win.”

Sergio Pérez can win: “Otherwise I wouldn’t be here”

But many have doubts about that. Pérez is seen by many as the clear number 2 who can only win if Max Verstappen has no chance of winning. Therefore, it was also clear to many that he should not stop his team-mate in Barcelona.

But Pérez himself emphasizes that he can drive freely and win races and can also drive for the title: “They didn’t have to tell me that. That’s clear on my side of the garage and within the team,” said the Mexican. “Otherwise I wouldn’t be here.”
