The future of the 41-year-old is open
Zlatan Ibrahimović is set to leave AC Milan when his contract expires at the end of the month. Reports by Fabrizio Romano and Gianluca Di Marzio According to the Rossoneri, the 41-year-old striker’s contract will not be renewed at San Siro for Sunday’s final league game against Hellas Verona. The 122-time Swedish international returned to Milan in January 2020, since then he has played 78 games in which he scored 37 goals. This season, however, he has been slowed down for the most part by knee surgery and other injuries.
At 41 years and five months, Ibrahimović is the oldest outfield player this season. According to reports, he should decide in the next few days how and whether the veteran will continue. Speculations have repeatedly surfaced in the past that he could end his career. At the end of last season there was the championship with Milan, a self-proclaimed goal that Ibrahimović still wanted to achieve before the end of his career. In total, he has 163 games and 93 goals and 35 assists at Milan.
