Reserve for Chelsea and protagonist with Morocco at the World Cup: the Blues attacking midfielder can arrive in January
Belgium-Morocco was not only a great World Cup match but also an opportunity to reflect on the Rossoneri market: Hakim Ziyech was the protagonist of the afternoon with a free-kick that led to his first goal (cancelled) and then with the assist from doubling. Ziyech, born in the Netherlands to Moroccan parents, was instrumental in set pieces (a specialty in which Milan would gladly accept reinforcements) and in the end putting his creativity at the service of the team: Milan could use an attacking joker, a a bit outsider a bit playmaker, capable of solving even the most thorny practices. In the final part of the race in Belgium Charles De Ketelaere entered: a quarter of an hour without particular numbers and without being able to score. A summary of these first few months for the Rossoneri. Still impalpable but comforted by Pioli and the management: the great talent will come out. Coach Martinez must think the same for having embarked him in the world group. In the meantime, however, it is Ziyech who directs the fate of the group and the Milan market could also draw new indications from it: waiting for De Ketelaere, the club has never screwed up an investment in young players, there could be room for Hakim, who turned twenty-nine in March. The right age to want to experience a second sporting youth: in Chelsea he is aging on the bench, five games in this Premier League (only one as owner), 54 minutes distributed in three appearances as a substitute in the Champions League.

At Milan he could shine again, following the example of Tomori and Giroud, gray in London and radiant again in Milan. All in all, restoring Ziyech’s smile and above all a leading technical role has affordable costs: Chelsea have lost hope of recovering a large part of the 40 million invested in January two years ago to buy him from Ajax. The benches he was forced to have more than halved the price: and an even more convenient solution for Milan would be the onerous loan in January with the right to buy out in the summer. A total deal worth just over fifteen million. The signing for just under half, six, is the real obstacle. Although there would be no commissions to be paid to agents: Ziyech’s representative is Ziyech himself. And to return to being a protagonist in a big club, a far-sighted manager would advise his client to sacrifice his salary.
