Presidents of Ukraine and the United States Volodymyr Zelensky and Joe Biden will discuss the de-escalation of the Ukrainian crisis and the security situation by phone on February 13, informed Zelensky’s press secretary Sergei Nikiforov on Facebook.
“In the coming hours, President Volodymyr Zelensky will discuss with US President Joe Biden the security situation and ongoing diplomatic de-escalation efforts. [на Украине]”, he wrote.
The White House could not name the date of Russia’s “invasion” of Ukraine
At the same time, the journalist Bloomberg Jennifer Jacobs citing officials from both countries at 17:43 Moscow time reportedthat the conversation of the heads of state will begin “in about an hour.”
This conversation will be the third conversation between Biden and Zelensky since the beginning of the year – they previously spoke on January 2 and 28. Both talks focused on a possible Russian invasion of Ukraine, and for the second time also touched on US economic aid to Ukraine amid “pressure caused by Russia’s military buildup.”
