Zelensky still sees possibilities to relieve Mariupol militarily

Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky has denied that the strategically important Ukrainian port city of Mariupol fell to the Russian military on Thursday, as Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed earlier in the day.

“The situation is difficult, the situation is bad,” Zelensky told reporters in Kiev on Thursday, but the president still saw ways to relieve the besieged city. “There is a military way to do that and we are preparing for that.”
