Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky has looked to the future in his usual video message. In the night from Wednesday to Thursday, he announced his government’s plans for when the war will end. Among other things, housing must be provided for all police officers, soldiers and other government officials.
Zelenski asks local authorities to make an inventory of damaged buildings and infrastructure, so that reconstruction can start quickly. “Not only do we want to restore everything destroyed by the occupiers, we also want to tackle old problems,” the Ukrainian president said.
In his speech, the president also praised the resistance of Ukrainians in the south of the country. He is referring to the inhabitants of occupied Kherson who have taken to the streets with Ukrainian flags. “The stronger our resistance is now, the sooner normal life returns,” said Zelenski.
