Zelensky critical of western countries after Russia announcement

Volodymyr Zelensky has criticized his Western allies. In a video on facebook Zelensky responds to Russia’s announcement that earlier on Sunday it said it would attack military factories in Ukraine. “Thousands of people work there. Hundreds of thousands live in the area. That is murder,” said the Ukrainian president.

“I have not heard a response from any world leader. Not from any western politician. There are no comments on this announcement,” Zelensky said in his daily speech. “Think of the sense of impunity of the occupiers: they announce their atrocities.” According to the president, Russia’s statements and actions show that the Western sanctions imposed so far are insufficient.

Earlier on Sunday, Russian Defense Minister Igor Konashenkov said Russian troops will “pelt the Ukrainian defense industry with precision weapons”. People who work in these factories have been urged not to come to work for the time being.

In his speech, Zelensky went on to say that the violence Russia inflicted on Ukraine will never be forgotten or forgiven. “We cannot forgive the hundreds and hundreds of victims. Nor the thousands and thousands who have suffered,” he said. “Not today. Not tomorrow. Never.”
