Hey, you, this is entertainment television! Bite-right from ZDFneo in 6×12 minutes served in “Aufstaut”. Rating: didactically fully ambitious.
The drama-comedy (“Dramedy”) is about the climate chaos, glue and criminals. Drama, only in funny. This is the generation and class conflict. And really important: show the internal conflicts in the adhesives.
Problem: It’s neither funny nor dramatic. Just outrageously flat.
As a white man over 40 without a migration background – the majority of the male population in this country – you can feel insulted by ZDF (2.5 billion euros per year). We are: just complete idiots. Grim, caustic, latently xenophobic, aggressive (“…shoot in the foot…!”). And one of us also drives: PORSCHE!
Only the others are nice: women (except for an old 68-year-old woman who wants to become a climate torch) and the Späti seller with a background in escaping Africa is super nice.
And the criminal offspring of Kleber? Totally sweet, with dreams, fears and stuff.
It happens as it has to happen – everything dissolves in a colorful variety sauce:
►A climate-loving cellist completes her audition on the street via video.
► A child is born (midwife: the oppressed Eastern European parcel delivery man).
► An old white man is converted to niceness.
►The revolutionary is deleted with glue-pee.
►Two gluers (m/f) love each other…
Only the Späti seller is worried: his brother now also comes from Africa. As – of course: a climate refugee.
Otherwise: a single “Ode to Joy” – “All people become brothers where your glue wing resides…”
Just not for Porsche drivers. A cliché has to stick.
