Zara is now rolling out its Pre-Owned circular model in Germany.
The platform and services, which are intended to extend the life cycle of garments, will be available in a total of 14 new markets from December 12, Zara announced on Wednesday. In addition to Germany, the new countries also include Austria, Luxembourg, Spain, Belgium, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands and Portugal. The Spanish fashion chain’s service was previously available in Great Britain and France.
Pre-Owned offers Zara customers access to services such as clothing repairs, which can be requested via the company’s app and website, but are also available in stores. You can also sell or donate old clothing from the brand to other customers. Third-party brands are also taken into account when making donations. Collection is also possible for donated items that will be reused or recycled. In Germany, Zara’s parent company Inditex works with the German Clothing Foundation.
