Zara has once again presented a project based on the Metaverse with the new Y2K Creatures collection, which consists of both digital and physical products.
Many of the pieces come from the open-world platform Zepeto, some of which are inspired by Zara’s first digital creations, while the physical versions were made afterward. “This type of creation underscores the fact that today, more than ever, the digital and physical worlds are connected and mutually reinforcing,” the Spanish fashion retailer said in a statement.
The phygital collection features 10 pieces of clothing – a vest, three sweaters, a sweetheart top, a strapless dress, feathered bell bottoms and two skirts – along with a selection of accessories. As with previous collections, Zara will release some products exclusively as digital items only available through Zepeto, such as a photobooth, hairstyles and nail designs.
After the first collection with Ader Error and the second “Lime Glam” line, this is the fast fashion retailer’s third collaboration with the Metaverse platform.
Alongside the release, the brand will also launch its own Snapchat channel, allowing customers to access content and augmented reality (AR) lenses inspired by the new collection.
