Zalando & Nike expand strategic partnership

Under the keyword “Connected Partnership”, Zalando and Nike Inc. want to intensify their cooperation and link Zalando’s reach with the Nike Member Program. The onsite experience is set to go live in all ten markets where Nike participates in Zalando’s partner program, starting with Austria in October. The nine other markets to follow shortly include Germany, the Netherlands, France, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Italy and Poland.

The aim of the expanded partnership is to integrate exclusive items for Nike members into the Zalando Fashion Store. This gives Nike members on Zalando earlier access to Nike products and member-exclusive collections. This is made possible by customers linking their Nike account with Zalando. This should also make it easier for customers to “integrate sport into their everyday lives,” according to the press release.

“Our customers’ expectations are higher than ever,” said Carl Grebert, vice president/general manager of Nike EMEA. “Our goal is therefore to get in touch with them if they do sports, buy corresponding products or get inspired by sports. With partners like Zalando, we can respond to the needs of these customers more quickly and easily – and bring them even closer to our brand and to the topic of sports in general.”

Through the expanded partnership with Nike, we can now offer our customers an even more relevant selection of Nike’s innovative sports and lifestyle products and other benefits for Nike members.”
