Zalando and Paco Rabanne are launching a joint capsule for spring/summer 2023. The 40-piece collection was inspired by the French brand’s DNA and is available exclusively from the Berlin-based online retailer, Zalando announced on Tuesday.
The capsule collection consists of 20 pieces of clothing, 17 accessories – including Rabanne’s iconic “1969” metal bag – and three styles of shoes. Each piece embodies the design ethos of the brand, founded in the 1960s by designer Paco Rabanne and now managed by Julien Dossena. In addition to metal accents, the designs also use bright colors such as barbie pink and cobalt blue.
According to the announcement, the joint capsule is intended to appeal to a new generation of luxury customers. Zalando’s efforts to appeal to younger luxury consumers of Generation Z and the even younger Gen Alpha, who are expected to make up a third of the market volume by 2030, was also the topic of an event organized by the online retailer in Milan at the end of March. With the Rabanne capsule, Zalando is also getting a little closer to its goal of doubling the number of luxury brands on the platform and “being the first choice for discerning, modern luxury customers”.
“The Paco Rabanne Capsule is an important step on our journey to becoming the go-to place for designer fashion,” says Lena-Sophie Röper, Director of Designer & Luxury at Zalando to bring together the creative vision of the brand with our versatile and inspiring designer fashion shopping experience for the new generation of luxury customers.”
Paco Rabanne’s capsule collection for Zalando will be available from April 12th.
