The online retailer Zalando is initiating a change at the top of its supervisory board. The previous chairman Cristina Stenbeck decided not to stand for re-election, the group announced on Tuesday in Berlin. The successor should be the previous Vice-Chairman Kelly Bennett. The shareholders are to re-elect him to the board at the Annual General Meeting on May 24th. The new supervisory board should then appoint him as its chairman.
Zalando founder and co-boss Robert Gentz thanked Cristina Stenbeck for her many years of commitment. “She has been a valued friend, trusted advisor and knowledgeable shareholder for many years.” Stenbeck will continue to exercise her supervisory board mandate until the general meeting. Her designated successor, Bennett, reportedly works as an advisor to the leadership teams at Microsoft, Strava, and Nubank. He was also head of marketing at Netflix (dpa).
