The online fashion retailer Zalando expects its recent strong growth to weaken in the current year. The company announced on Tuesday in Berlin that sales should increase by 12 to 19 percent to 11.6 to 12.3 billion euros. The forecast does not include possible effects related to the war in Ukraine.
In the past year, the company had grown even more strongly, also supported by the restrictions in stationary retail due to the corona pandemic. Sales increased by almost 30 percent and, at EUR 10.4 billion, surpassed the ten billion mark for the first time. Adjusted earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) increased from 420.8 to 468.4 million euros. For 2022, the management now expects 430 to 510 million euros. (dpa)
