Zagato, the historic Milanese body shop, brings back to life the spirit of the Alpine A220 that raced at Le Mans in 1968. To do so it started from the small and fast current Alpine A110 and totally reinterpreted it.
The spirit of the Alpine 220 returns to run fast and it does so thanks to the creative and expert hands of Zagato. For this very limited series of 19 examples, in addition to the typical stylistic features such as the “double hump” on the roof, originally useful to make the heads of the pilots who wore the helmet fit more comfortably (and for some time now a symbol of the Milanese brand) the new Agtz Twin Tail it presents totally revised aerodynamics with a new carbon fiber bodywork, the new front with style headlights is evident “Le Mans” and above all with a new long tail with a racing flavor which can be removed if necessary, leaving a more practical and conventional berlinetta tail visible, hence the name “Twin Tails”.

In addition to the “double bubble” on the roof there is another detail that recalls the Zagato tradition like the raised lower edge of the side windows taken from the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato. It is therefore a model aligned with the history of the Milanese coachbuilder which has always offered, since its inception, special cars in which performance and style were balanced and pushed to the highest levels. This is not an official initiative with the support of Renault but it demonstrates once again the liveliness and originality of the Milanese atelier which will rely on its Polish partner La Squadra to manage the marketing. The price? starting from 650 thousand euros.
