Zach Booth not afraid of competition at FC Volendam: “Perfect place”

This summer, FC Volendam strengthened itself with wing attacker Zach Booth. The 19-year-old American is rented from the English Leicester City and made his debut against Heracles Almelo (2-2) last weekend. “I am very grateful for the opportunity that FC Volendam has given me.”

Booth liked the first weeks in the fishing village. However, the fast winger is not yet completely fond of the local delicacies. “I’m not a big fan of fish. Everyone at the club has told me that if you live in Volendam, you have to eat fish. Because it is part of the culture. I have already eaten salmon at the club. I know I’m sure I’ll try it more often, because it has to be done.”

The Premier League is not unknown territory for the Booth family. His older brother Taylor plays for FC Utrecht. Zach is eagerly looking forward to the confrontation with his brother on Friday, October 6. “He said: ‘Just be careful when we play against you’. I can’t wait for that match. It will be really cool for me. If I beat my brother, I can of course tease him.”

This weekend, FC Volendam will first play the away match against PSV. The kick-off on Saturday is at 6.45 pm.
